Pool renovations for tired pools in Melbourne

Has your pool lost its fun appeal? Is your backyard boring? Aqua-Rite handles complete pool renovation and remodeling, from the surface and the tile to the deck and the equipment that runs it.

Chapter 01

Resurfacing, when the finish has had its run

A pool finish tells you when it is done. The surface turns rough under a bare foot, stains stop coming out with brushing, patches of plaster or pebble let go, and the water seems to need more chemical than it used to. Florida sun, heavy chemical swings and years of salt or mineral load all take a little off the shell every season. Resurfacing is how a Melbourne pool gets a new skin without a new hole in the ground.

We specialize in renovations, and resurfacing is the one most owners picture first. The pool is drained, the old surface is prepped so the new finish has something sound to hold, and the new finish goes in as one continuous job. Then the pool refills and the first days of water chemistry matter as much as the finish itself, which is where having a retail counter and a service crew under one roof helps. Call the office at (321) 255-0506 to talk through what your pool is showing you.

Bobby Johnson has been in the pool and spa trade since 1975, and that includes construction, renovation and remodeling. A shell that comes out of the water gets read by someone who has seen how they age, not only how they look.

New waterline tile and a deck you want to walk on

Tile is the first thing the eye lands on and the first thing a pool shows its age in. Waterline tile collects scale and calcium, cracks at the expansion joints, and lets go in patches where water has gotten behind it. Tile replacement along the waterline resets the whole look of the pool, and it can change how the whole pool looks while the rest of the shell stays as it is, as long as that shell is still sound.

Deck refinishing is the other half of how a pool feels. A deck that is stained, cracked or too hot underfoot makes a good pool feel worn, and a Brevard lanai gets hit by afternoon sun and daily rain. Refinishing the deck around the pool, and coordinating it with the tile and the surface, means you do the dusty work once and finish with a backyard that reads as one project instead of three patches.

We plan tile and deck work around the pool, not around the calendar of whichever trade shows up first. If you are weighing it, ask us at the Wickham Road store or on the phone what order makes sense for your pool.

Chapter 03

Automation upgrades and equipment that costs less to run

A renovation is the best moment to fix the part nobody sees. Most older pools in Melbourne, Viera and Suntree run on a single-speed pump, manual valves and a timer clock in a metal box. Installation of automation, energy efficient equipment and heating systems is part of what Aqua-Rite does, so the pool that comes out of the renovation is easier to run than the one that went in.

Automation puts the pump, heater, lights and cleaner on one control, so a Brevard owner can run schedules and switch equipment from one control instead of walking out to the equipment pad. We sell and service Hayward, Jandy, Pentair, Rheem and AquaCal, which means the part you choose can be supported by the same shop that installs it.

If the heater is the reason you are calling, say so. Installing heating systems is part of what Aqua-Rite does, and heater repair is on the service list too. Call (321) 255-0506 or stop by the store.
