Chemicals, and the questions that go with them
Chemicals are the part of a pool you buy again and again, and in Melbourne's heat they move fast. A pool that was clear on Saturday can be green by the next weekend after a few storms and a hot week, so the counter at Aqua-Rite sees a steady line of owners asking the same thing in different words: why is my water doing this?
Chemicals are the first category on our shelves, and Aqua-Rite also runs weekly pool service, a routine that starts with testing and balancing the water. So a question about chlorine, pH or what a test kit is telling you comes to a shop that works with pool water every week. If you just moved into a home with your first pool, tell us. Teaching new owners the ropes on water testing and chemicals is something this shop does.

Pumps, filters and parts, by brand
When the equipment pad starts making a new noise, the repair is usually a part, and the part is usually a name you already recognise on the label. We sell and service Hayward, Jandy, Pentair, Rheem and AquaCal, so the store and the repair crew work from the same brands. The store keeps a full stocked inventory of the most popular pool parts from name brand suppliers.
Pumps and filters are the two categories most people come in for. A pump that sounds rough, a filter that keeps losing pressure, a leaky union or o-ring, a heater part: bring the old one, or a photo of the label, and ask at the counter. Our repair techs keep going to training seminars and classes to stay current on new pool equipment.

Chapter 03
Accessories, covers, and visiting the counter
Vacuum cleaners, brushes, covers and a wide variety of other accessories fill out the rest of the store. These are the things that make weekly care easier when you do it yourself, from keeping baskets and filters clean to keeping debris out of a pool between swims.
The store sits in the Post Commons Shopping Center, at the corner of Post Rd. and Wickham Rd. in Melbourne. Hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 to 6:00 and Saturday 9:00 to 5:00. We are closed Sunday.
